The
Electrical License with Tom Henry
I'm
sharing over 61 years of electrical knowledge with you. I've written
over 70 electrical books and taught over 20,000 electricians over the
years for their license
and I know why only 33% pass the electrical exam.
These
days, apprenticeship programs have almost disappeared and there are
very
few vo-tech programs targeting trade and industrial jobs. Because
of this and because
so many companies cut back their training departments and capabilities
over the past,
too many workers today have not been formally trained to do the work we
ask them to
do day in and day out.
In the field there is just not enough time for a journeyman electrician
to teach an apprentice electrician the technical and cognitive
skills an electrician should know.
I have found that while in the field there it is
very hard to train an apprentice in
the
technical areas to become an electrician. Problems arise for example
your boss makes you work longer and the time schedule for the project
has been accelerated.
These are just a few of the
problems that make it difficult for a seasoned electrician to teacxh an
apprentice. Small tasks can be taught like how to install a receptacle
or set up new light fixtures. Teaching calculations and the "Why"
can be super difficult.
This is where every person interested in
the electrical field of technology should
start
at the
beginning with Electron Theory.
There is no
short cut, you must start at the beginning with electron
theory and the atom
if you want to pass an electrical exam.
In my years of preparing electricians for their license
exam, I
found the reason many didn't pass is
that they never have been
taught electricity. You have to start
there first.
The program Electricity
has an eight chapter
text book with chapters starting with the atom, static
and current electricity, magnetism, DC generator, alternator, turbine,
Ohm's Law, AC current, single phase and three phase transformers,
series and parallel circuits, and power and energy.
Over 3 hours
of Video!
Now you can watch 3 hours of Tom Henry
doing hands on demonstrations and actually witness the behavior of
electricity. You
will witness on video these amazing experiments by Tom Henry.
10 dimes and 10 pennies produce electricity, you'll actually see
current flowing in water, you'll see a 9 volt battery start a fire and
learn how, you'll witness Tom Henry holding a fluorescent tube in an
electrostatic field of over 400,000 volts and the tube lights up, the
power wheel and calculator in animation, water analogy in motion,
magnetism in action, a neon arc starting a fire, and many more to view.
Each chapter is
followed by an exam. After completion of the exam, you may self-grade
this exam to determine if you passed and should advance to the next
chapter. The answers in
detail are found in the 80 page Instructors Guide.
