The National Electrical Code Chapter One
ARTICLE 90 thru 110
Introduction, Definitions, Requirements for Electrical Installations.

Preparing for the exam, common sense will tell you to study an hour a night for a week is better than an all day cram. The difficulty occurs when you say National Electrical Code book. Most applicants taking an exam are not familiar enough with the Code book and it's easy to understand why only 30 out of 100 pass an electrical exam. Many are unsuccessful because they failed to read the question correctly.

Your score on the open book exam depends on how familiar you are with the National Electrical Code book. Most exam applicants run out of time and are not able to find all the answers to the questions within the limited time. You must understand Article 100 Definitions. If you don't understand the definition, you will have trouble with answering the questions correctly.

In writing these books on OPEN BOOK questions for locating the section of the NEC, I'm using a different format. I want you to write down what section of the NEC that states the fact. This will help you in using your memory cells and eliminate guessing. I'll give you the correct answer.

EXAMPLE:
Each meeting room of not more than _____ sq. ft. in other than dwelling units shall have outlets for nonlocking-type, 125 volt, 15 or 20 ampere receptacles.

(a) 250    (b) 500    (c) 750    (d) 1000
